Pro Plastic, Period. explores the role plastic can play in menstrual products, using an often-overlooked perspective to challenge the overwhelmingly negative conversation around plastic.
Created as part of a team brief to develop materials promoting the positive uses of plastic, the project focuses specifically on how plastic can support people during their periods.
A short illustrated film brings together stories surrounding the taboo of getting a first period, using personal experiences to create an honest and empowering narrative. Illustrations highlight the different ways plastic is used within sanitary products, reframing the material through a more unexpected and human perspective.
The film was supported by a set of three A5 cards, featuring key facts from the video alongside illustrated period euphemisms from different languages. Together, the materials create an engaging campaign that uses humour, illustration and storytelling to open up conversations around periods while highlighting an alternative use for plastic.
